Technically, just the Apocalypse Suite, since apparently there's more to this series.
Was semi-recently coerced into reading this, and finally found the time to do so. Didn't know anything about it besides 'White Violin is one of my favorite characters.' At first I thought she was being difficult when I asked her about her favorite characters and she responded with a musical instrument. Naturally I had to judge whether my friend's taste was sound.
Was her taste sound? Find out after the break.
Well that was not what I expected at all. I guess I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't a tale of an estranged super hero family.
I liked it quite a bit. Well, except the part where Vanya changes her mind so rapidly on whether or not to bring about the apocalypse. And her brutal murder of Pogo. I guess apparently she was not mentally sound in the first place but still. I get she was upset to hear the family she hadn't seen in decades didn't care about her, but Pogo did. Why go out of her way to kill him?
But besides Vanya's little tantrum, there's definitely an interesting group dynamic going on, which was probably the strongest point of the story. Number Five in particular stood out to me, which may be because of his distinct absence from the group dynamic. Of course, that was when he had Pogo to bounce off of. That's probably not a thing in other installments. Still, I liked the other members of the bunch well enough, so perhaps Pogo's death doesn't ruin everything.
Also, I do not think there is a better intro than saying (and showing!) that everything began with a match between a luchador and a space squid.
